Book-burning like commies ....

I used to love to read the popular English The Dolphin and other local English books and also sing English and other language songs from books published by The Borneo Literature Bureau in Kuching and then around 1977, these books disappeared mysteriously. I often wondered why and I have now learnt the truth. Here it is the truth of what happened in 1977 .... As Wikipedia notes: "In 1963, it opened an office in Brunei and later in 1977, it opened two offices in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching". (Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dewan_Bahasa_dan_Pustaka)

Apparently, after the English language - loving first Chief Minister Datuk Stephen Kalong Ningkan's government was unable to call for a state election following the so-called "emergency" by the federal authorities,  Rahman Yakub beame the Chief Minister.  Under him, the Borneo Literature Bureau which had been one of the main proponents of publishing Borneon native culture  was replaced by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, the Malay language publishing firm from Malaya.

An evil genius through henchmen gave the orders for the many precious books in the Borneo Literature Bureau office to be destroyed as the article above states. May Allah forgive them for the evil they do in destroying Sarawakian and Borneon heritage. It is reminiscent of the communist Chinese cultural revolution whereby intellectual works were systemically destroyed.
