Crows of Death?

Sometimes we do experience the paranormal without realising it.

What do we know about crows? There can be busy all the time... An Indian proverb asks, "How can a crow sleep soundly when the figs are ripe?"

Really? Mere figs or departing souls?

On Tuesday, 20th November this year, I was about to drive to an important engagement about five miles away in the pouring rain and heavy thunderstorm when I happened to glance up in the sky outside my Piasau home. The time was 2:00 P.M. sharp. (By coincidence, my antique grandfather clock died at 2:00 o'clock over 20 years ago and my dad passed away at 2:00 P.M).

Lo and behold! I was astonished to notice sixteen black crows all aligned on one of the electricity cables high above the ground. They were perched on the cable which was just above the entrance to my home.

Having seen a crow once in my garden before a close friend was killed in an accident on a rainy day, I wondered if it was again an omen of impending death of someone close to us.

I grabbed my video camera and started recording the unusual sight.

From sixteen of them, the crows became fewer when six flew off, followed by four and then all of them flew off.

I took my video camera and uploaded everything into my PC. Everything else came out well except the crow video! Disappointingly, nothing could be seen!

That wasn't the end of my story. I grabbed a pen and tried to figure out the significance of the sixteen crows... and here's what I worked out mathematically: 16 crows; 10 remained; 6 remained & then all left. No. of crows which flew off each time: 16-6= 10; 10-6=4 & then all left.
In the Holy Bible, the number '6 6 6' is considered the devil's number and for the Chinese the number '4' is a bad numeral as it sounds like 'death' in the Mandarin language.

Yes, need I say that I canceled my important engagement on the spot with my hand-phone?

Now, today is Thursday 22th November, 2007 and I have just learnt that my neighbour, whom I dubbed 'neighbour from hell' in an earlier posting, has lost his eccentric weird wife. The wake is being prepared with lots of burning joss sticks, hell money, temporally house extension and hell flags as I post this entry. Moments ago, her casket was carried into the house.

Tonight the Buddhist mantras will be sung throughout the night ...

Here is some of the interesting information that I found at Wilkipedia, the great online encyclopedia about crows:

"Crows, and especially ravens, often feature in European legends or mythology as portents or harbingers of doom or death, because of their dark plumage, unnerving calls, and tendency to eat carrion. They are commonly thought to circle above scenes of death such as battles. The Child ballad The Three Ravens depicts three ravens discussing whether they can eat a dead knight, but finds that his hawk, his hound, and his true love prevent them; in the parody version The Twa Corbies, these guards have already forgotten the dead man, and the ravens can eat their fill. Their depiction of evil has also led to some exaggeration of their appetite. In modern films such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, The Omen II and Exorcist: The Beginning, crows are shown tearing out people's eyes while they are still alive".

This is a cartoon drawing of the late Brandon Lee, son of the late great martial arts master and Jeet Kwan Do founder, Bruce Lee in a scene as 'the crow' in a graveyard. He was the star in the production of the movie, The Crow in 1994 when he was killed accidentally as the prop gun fired a live bullet, instead of a blank bullet into his body.

Brandon used to drive around Hollywood in a former hearse limousine that used to carry the dead to their final resting places.

This the grave of Brandon with a mysterious philosophical message in a cemetery in Seattle at Washington State, United States of America.

Malaysian Neighbour From Hell

It wasn't too long ago that a well-known Malaysian celebrity in his blog was sharing that he was annoyed with a neighbour of his and it was upsetting him so much that he was going to lodge some sort of report to the authorities.

Now, I have discovered by myself how unneighbourly some Malaysians can be.

Here's my true tale of woe...

Next door to my home is a retired over 70-year old mechanic from a major oil conglomerate based in Miri.

We always got on fine and were on speaking terms. We didn't have any trouble at all with each other. My kids even greeted him whenever they saw him.

Then one day, I looked out of my bedroom window. I froze when I saw him tossing his cigarette butt into my well-maintained beautiful garden!

"Okay, it's just a butt, anyway," I consoled myself. I shrugged my shoulders and didn't think more about it.

Soon after I either found in my garden or caught him tossing longan seeds; rambutan seeds; sweet wrappings time after time and one unpleasant day... chicken bones.

Chicken bones- that was it-I spoke to one of his adult kids about it and the bones ceased flying over but the rest of the Palestinian missiles continued unabatedly.

Now I'm generally a Mr. Nice Guy so they say: if these litter had been tossed over only on a few occasions, I didn't mind it all. But heck, no! It has been 7 years!

The old guy now coughs badly and all this while I thought, "Well, he's going to kick the bucket soon anyway. No point in kicking a big fuss over this matter to upset the elderly."

Hell, he hasn't.

And today, I found durian seeds strewn all over my beautiful garden again.

Isn't this a neighbour from hell?

A Good Moral

Thanks Ijau!

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."

The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, "I don't understand." It is simple," said the Lord. "It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you. Its estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title "7%". I'm in the 7%

Star Trek Crew in Hell!

Yeah, that's right! Who would have thought the crew would wind up there, of all places?

This is the pic I wanted to share earlier. The hell is depicted as close to the description in the Bible as we know it with the huge ever-burning cauldron of fire... Just like Dante's version of hell as well in his famous art piece entitled Dante's Inferno.

Please remember to click the pic once to see if you recognise friends who gave their lives to Lucifer or the devil ... Yes, yes! I read you! Von Feldspar, I've rescanned the hell you wanted and no doubt, you will find some good-or shall we say, bad- buddies there? Heh-heh!
