CJ's 'judgment fixing' caught on tape

An explosive video clip allegedly showing Chief Justice Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim discussing with a senior lawyer on how to 'fix the judgments' of several cases was released today. The clip, which was taken in 2002, was released by PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim today. Among the cases 'discussed' by the chief justice and the senior lawyer were Anwar's appeals. It also (shows) Ahmad Fairuz and the lawyer discussing which judges should be promoted to sit in the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court so that they can deliver judgments accordingly. Anwar said the video proved that his appeals against his sodomy and abuse of power convictions were tainted and that he was denied a proper and fair trial. Anwar, however, did not disclose the person who took the video.
