Bad Malaysian English

I was reading the papers the other day about the Aussie government's change in the immigration regulation on English proficiency for would-be immigrants. It seems that the immigration authorities are expecting a higher standard of it, requiring a higher grade in its English competency test.

I am not surprised, as the following conversation - so I hear - actually took place. May I thank my dear Ijau for it:

DAY 9: Haunting Voices...

In fact... Azilah was head of Najib’s personal security team. In an affidavit filed in December in his defense, Abdul Razak said he had contacted Azilah through Musa Safri, Najib’s aide-de-camp, to ask for help in dealing with Altantuya, who by that time was demanding money to care for a baby she said Abdul Razak had fathered.

Another mysterious figure in the case was a woman constable who was mentioned in earlier news reports as “helping police in the investigation into the murder.” She was described as a lance corporal, in her mid-20s, from the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters who had been in remand. News reports aid the woman helped to put Altantuya into the red Proton Saga car that drove her away for the last time.

The rumor mill has it that the policewoman is a bodyguard for Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, although she was never named. The police woman dropped completely out of the case, however, and was never arrested or identified; the local papers have stopped mentioning her. The private investigator hired by Razak, P. Balasubramaniam, testified that that a man and a woman were with Azilah when Azilah drove Altantuya away. However, he said he could not recognize the two other individuals.

I remember the name Najib Razak, they had the same name, 'Razak". I thought they were brothers. I asked her (Altantuya) if they were brothers.

The relevancy is this: we must not hide anything. It was the ADC (aide- de-camp) of the Deputy Prime Minister who had directed his personnel to go in front of Razak's house to take the deceased away. That is the purpose.

Three of us were under pressure. Suras (Kumar) and Bala (P. Balasubramaniam) threatened to throw us out of the window and wanted to kill us. Every night they came to our room and knocked on the door forcefully at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 am. There was no record of our entry. At that time (Malaysian honorary consul-general for Mongolia) Syed Abdul Rahman Athabshi was also following us to Mongolia. Accused killer, AR Baginda's Mysterious close Black pal, 'Mark'. He has been providing comfort to Baginda's family. Does anyone out there have more info about this huge dude other than he was said to be an old classmate of Baginda in the University of London and he claimed to have taken a month off from work just to be in Malaysia to support his friend. He is standing next to Baginda's daughter, Rowena.
He has refused to disclose his full name.

Killed by the Triads?

This news probably appeared circa 1992-3.

It's a shocking primitive method of eliminating someone but apparently, in true Hollywood- style, the act was carried out with deadly agonising results.

It does look chillingly like the work of organized crime and the reason or reasons may not be too hard to guess as the poor murdered innocent girl had a dad who was in charge of Hong Kong Immigration. In those days before China took over the island, it was rumored that the Immigration authorities there were as corrupted as those in some Third World countries. It could have been a deadly pay-back for certain past actions by certain Hong Kong Immigration Officers who did not honor the pact with the triads which observed sworn secret vows.

The triads, according to one source, were so professional (like the Italian Mafia) that they had strict rules or codes. Oaths were sworn by the members. There were 36 oaths, the number itself having a special significance in Chinese numerology. A gang member had to utter all 36 vows such as After entering the Hung Gates, I must treat the parents and relatives of my sworn brothers as mine own kin. I shall suffer death by five thunderbolts if I do not keep this oath; I shall assist my sworn brothers to bury their parents and brothers by offering financial support or physical assistance. I shall be killed by five thunderbolts if I pretend I have no knowledge of their troubles; When Hung brothers visit my house, I shall provide them with board and lodging. I shall be killed by myriads of knives if I treat them as strangers, etc. ...

SCARY "444"!!!

Wasn't that an exciting bit of news in The Borneo Post in 2004 with all the dreary reports on the Sarawak state legislature proceedings? I certainly thought it was a brilliant attention-getter!

Come to think of it, regarding this bad 444 - death or die in Mandarin pronunciation - figure mentioned by the state representative, maybe it was merely a coincidence that the the hiring of public servants body, the Public Service Commission decided to retain 444 Immigration officers in Sarawak...

Or maybe again, it was a cosmic joker who conjured up this figure like a magician brandishing his wand in the air!
